Green and bronze eye shadow

Here we have my good friend Michelle. We go way back. All the way to 11th grade where I met this fine lass on the swim team with her swim cap oozing purple out the back every time her head bobbed in and out of the water. Brains? No, just Kool-Aid from dying her hair.  What does this have to do with makeup? I have no idea. Lets move on.

Michelle has Brown eyes and fair skin so most any color combo will work with her eyes. She let me experiment with some greens and bronze colors that I have been wanting to test out on someone. Here she is before:

Don't make me do this! Anything but having my face touched!
Don't mind the always-beautifully- decorated refrigerator in the background of the first one.
Another before shot with the promise of a treat when it's all over!

Now for the afters! I seriously need to learn the settings on my camera. While I think she looks great in the pictures, she looked 10 times better in real life!  I wish I would have taken a picture with my real camera with her eyes closed but alas, Here is my beautiful friend. Thanks Michelle for letting me mess with your face. We should do it again! And I should stop using exclamation points! But I can't!

phone cameras aren't the best for detail

you can kind of see the colors, but it looked way cooler in person. Just sayin.

"We good? Can I get my treat now?"

Darker skin tone

So far my good friend Janeta has the darkest skin tone I've attempted yet. I had watched a video about the color wheel, and which colors go better with this tone and that hair and bla bla bla... It was actually really interesting because it was true.

Here is her before. I had already applied the foundation before I remembered (or was reminded) to do the picture.
It was interesting to see how different the colors turned out on her compared to myself.

She is beautiful with or without makeup. I've always been jealous of those with darker eyelashes and brows!

What I learned:
  • darker blushes can still have a brightening effect as long as the skin tone is slightly darker. The lighter shades don't show up well and look 'off'.
  • I need more practice with eyeliner but am happy with this outcome.
  • Janeta is freaking rad for letting me come over with my kids as though she had nothing else to do.
We had so much fun she even called me to do her makeup for her family pictures!
